Exciting news + National Shortbread Day!

Hi there everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful few weeks of holiday happiness! I definitely did. Well, except for the awful cold that has made it’s way through just about every member of the family lately! We have been enjoying time indoors, organizing our new house and drinking lots of hot tea.

You know what pairs deliciously with hot tea? Cookies! Not just any cookies though – Walkers Shortbread cookies! 🙂

I’ve been asked to be a part of the Walkers Shortbread Society and I couldn’t be happier for the opportunity. I have fond memories of the easily recognizable red wrapping and the buttery snap when you bite into a cookie. So good. So simple. SO delicious.

What does this mean exactly? It means that I will be sharing news and updates about products, giveaways and yummy recipes and treat ideas all using Walkers Shortbread. Speaking of news and updates…

January 6, 2017 is NATIONAL SHORTBREAD DAY! Run to the nearest store that offers Walkers Shortbread and buy a pretty package of buttery, cookie goodness! It’s a national holiday for crying out loud!

And if running to the store isn’t quite your thing, they are offering a fun promotion that you can easily purchase from the comfort of your own home. Free shipping + free shortbread = happiness.

And before I close, I just wanted to share my three favorite Walkers Shortbread products.

Walkers Shortbread Rounds:

Adorned with the Scottish thistle and packaged in an attractive red tartan box, this luxury shortbread is baked in the heart of the Scottish Highlands to the Walkers founder’s 100-year-old pure butter shortbread recipe. I love to use this one in my banana pudding! I like to add one to the top of each individual pudding cup and it not only looks great but it tastes great too.

Walkers Shortbread Fingers:

Baked in a square and cut into a “fingers” shape, this pure butter shortbread has a perfect, crumbly “melt-in-the-mouth” texture, full butter flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. These are probably my favorite out of the bunch. I’m going to be sharing a fun little treat for Valentine’s Day using these babies so be sure to keep an eye out for that!

Walkers Chocolate Chip Shortbread:

The timeless delight of Walkers‘ traditional Scottish shortbread with added luscious chunks of smooth dark chocolate chunks. Chocolate Chip Shortbread brings a certain self-indulgence to give you a real treat. Okay, did I say the fingers were my favorite? I don’t know, maybe I lied because I think these are. It’s hard to choose but it’s also hard for me to say no to shortbread + chocolate! 😉

xoxo,
Ashleigh
