Let me cut to the chase, have you ever heard of beer can chicken? Have you ever HAD beer can chicken?
After last week, I can now say that I know what it is and I thoroughly enjoy eating it – yum!
So at first, I was a little put off by the idea of sticking a can of beer inside a chicken and cooking it(sounds kinda gross, right?). But then, when I saw that delicious chicken fresh off the grill with perfectly crisp skin and meat so tender it was falling off the bone, I quickly changed my mind.
Cave Tools was kind enough to send me their Beer Can Chicken Roasting Rack & Vegetable Spikes and it made the prep and cooking process SO simple. We forgot to pick up corn to roast alongside our chicken on the veggie spikes but next time, it will happen!
You simply pour half of a beer into the included can, place it in the rack, put your chicken on top and throw the whole thing on the grill for 1-1.5 hours. I love that the everything sits atop a drip tray so it makes for easy cleanup. Did I mention that all of the stainless steel pieces are dishwasher safe? Awesome, right?
We had my parents over to enjoy the chicken with us and they loved it just as well. Charlee DEVOURED her portion and kept begging for the crispy skin, haha. We put a simple poultry rub all over our chicken and that combined with the beer, it made for one tasty bird!
