Hey there, beautiful people! If you follow along with my little blog, I’m sure you’ve noticed that things have been a bit quiet around here lately. First, I’m sorry. And second, I missed you!
Life has been extremely busy as of late and I wanted to update you all on some fun and exciting news from the Glitter Cottage home front. If you know me personally, this is old news but if not, here we go!
For the last few months, I have been making tasty food, baked goods and desserts for a beautiful coffee shop and cafe in Wendell, North Carolina called Grounds Cafe. What started out as a couple hours a week of prep and cooking has turned into something much larger! I currently make the pimento cheese (the best!), chicken salad, pasta salad and loaded baked potato salad, as well as all of the desserts and baked goods. Not only that but a catering menu is in the works also! Big, big things are happening for little ol’ me.
I am lucky to call the owner of the shop, Casey, a friend of mine. Not only does Casey have Grounds Cafe but she also owns and operates a highly successful coffee catering business called Event Espresso Catering. Weddings, corporate events, PTA meetings….you name it, she’s got you covered for awesome coffee drinks!
Grounds is part of the new planned community, Wendell Falls, in Wendell, North Carolina. They are launching a ton of fun events such as sunrise yoga, a run club and happy hours with live music! If you’re local, go in for a delicious coffee and a sweet treat, have a cold beer or maybe you’re more interested in the “Build Your Own Grilled Cheese Bar”. Some of the goodies you can find in the shop are:
- Cream cheese banana bread (a local favorite!)
- Lemon bars
- Birthday cake crispy cookie bars
- Oatmeal cream pies
- S’mores fudge
- Coconut macaroons w/ dark chocolate drizzle
- Seasonal sweet and savory scones
So now you know what I’ve been up to! I promise to write more often and keep you all in the loop, okay? Let me know if any of my local followers make it out to Grounds! If you happen to see me around, be sure to say hi! 🙂
