Local Spotlight: Grounds Coffee Shop in Downtown Cary

Grounds126 W. Chatham Street, Cary, North Carolina 27511

It’s Monday morning at 9:00am….do you know where your husband is? Oh, right – he’s at work! Mine just so happens to LOVE working at our favorite little coffee shop in downtown Cary. Not only are the drinks great but the Grounds team and the atmosphere are absolutely top-notch.

Situated within a wedding invitation boutique called The Green Kangaroo and on a quaint street lined with an old fashioned drugstore, eateries and boutiques, Grounds is a warm and inviting coffee shop. The owners, Casey and Cameron, are extremely friendly and often help me decide what I’m in the mood for at the present moment (my indecisiveness is heightened while pregnant I suppose). I am particularly fond of their caramel steamers and iced Strawberry Bliss tea – SO good! All of their coffee drinks are espresso based so if you are looking for a drip coffee specifically, pop on over to Grounds and they will whip you up an Americano. I PROMISE you’ll enjoy it. Grounds operates alongside their sister company, Event Espresso Catering, which “is a ”Coffee House on Wheels” that allows your guests to enjoy freshly made Espresso drinks, teas and flavored coffees that are specially made just for them.” They’ve catered weddings, events and corporate functions for brands such as Siemens, Burt’s Bees, St. Louis Rams and many more. No more giant containers of gross, cold coffee for your guests!

Another reason to visit Grounds – Cinnamon Crunch Muffins. And chocolate covered pretzels. And butterscotch oatmeal cookies. OKAY, that was three reasons but the more the merrier!

Also, the downtown Cary Farmer’s Market is located directly across the street and is open on Tuesday’s from 2:00pm-6:00pm and on Saturday’s from 8:00am-12:30pm. Saturday’s are also known as “Dog Saturday’s” so it’s the perfect opportunity to put Fido on his leash, head downtown and stop in for a Pupsicle and an iced coffee. Check out the shop dog, Newt, enjoying his frozen treat below.

I really can’t say enough good things about this place. Great location, friendly people, fun discounts posted often (Check out their Instagram here!), dog friendly, great coffee…..overall, my husband and I love it.

Are you local to Cary? Have you been to Grounds? IF you haven’t been and are planning to go, pop back over and let me know what you thought. Mention Ashleigh from Glitter Cottage sent you!
