Workout Wednesday: Protein Smoothie Ideas

Happy Workout Wednesday!

Today, I want to share some of my favorite protein shake combinations with you. Charlee and I have been drinking delicious shakes every morning for a few months now and let me tell you, breakfast couldn’t get ANY easier. It’s quick, healthy, filling and a great on-the-go meal! I like mine on the thicker side (like a milkshake) but I make Charlee’s thin enough to drink through a straw using fresh fruit – instead of the frozen fruit that I use. I use an immersion blender to make them really creamy and smooth because I’m one of those weird people that has a problem with textures – no chunks allowed in my smoothies!

My husband made it easy for me when it came to choosing which protein powder to go with. He’s been drinking protein shakes for years and did his fair share of research. We’re really fond of Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein Powder; it tastes great, doesn’t have a chalky texture, mixes really well and is reasonably priced.

These are just a few of the smoothies that have been on repeat in our household. I’ve really been loving the PB&J and the Peaches & Cream lately. I love experimenting with new flavors, sneaking veggies into Charlee’s and using whatever looks pretty and fresh from the farmers market. Enjoy!
